Elections

How Vienna votes.

Results from the Town of Vienna’s four precincts in federal, state, and town elections since 2013. The data comes from the Virginia Department of Elections’ official records.

How to read these numbers

The Town of Vienna is served by four Fairfax County precincts: Vienna #1, #2, #4, and #6. The same four precincts carry the town’s own mayoral and council elections. Precinct lines are drawn by Fairfax County rather than the town, so federal and state totals here are an approximation of the town’s vote. It is a close one. About 0.1% of the precincts’ land area is outside the town, and about 0.3% of the town is outside the four precincts.

Until about 2023, Virginia counted most absentee and early ballots in a countywide central precinct. Those ballots cannot be tied to individual precincts, so for those years the precinct figures only cover ballots reported at the precinct level. Contests where this applies carry a note with the countywide number. Town contests, which begin in 2023, count town voters only.
